Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual self-care are a must in your life

Make sure to self-care and bring to your life what you need. You need to pay attention to your physical body and take good care of your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. If you invest more time in yourself, self-care comes easily and most efficiently.
Ensuring self-care brings wellness and mindfulness.

Do you invest proper time in Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual self-care?

Hello! How is the week going? Are your minds stronger already? I am sure they are because even the smallest step yields progress. Today, for the third week in a row, we will continue on the more philosophical side of things. However, as I said before, everything in the end is energy and spirituality, as it contributes positively to your life. Today, it is all about self-care and honoring your needs. It is fantastic to be selfless, but not caring for yourself is reckless!

Like with the last couple of articles, I am sharing a lot of stuff that you probably know already but perhaps you had forgotten. You want to focus on bringing self-care to a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, so you will find lots of helpful advice to the point.

The main goal for today’s article is for you to bring to every area of your life the opportunity for improving into greater balance and well-being. When you keep a few simple things into account, you bring massive changes to your life. Some of these can even sound crazy, even more on the Internet, so you gotta find your way. What matters the most is for you to be at a wholeness level of energy, passion, and gratitude.

Let’s start with physical wellbeing

The easiest step is working with what you perceive with your physical senses, so let’s start with your body. This is not more than taking good care of yourself, for you to learn how to communicate this way. The best way for physical self-care is to be connected with your body and start listening to the (sometimes very clear) signs it gives you. It’s your body, it is not that difficult, you can do it naturally, you only need to reduce the stimuli in your surroundings by starting to stop paying attention to them constantly.

One example of proper physical self-care is to ensure you have a deep and restorative sleep.

One example of proper physical self-care is to ensure you have a deep and restorative sleep.

Keep in mind that having a healthy lifestyle will define the many years to go. Remember last week’s article where I said that if you took care of things in the now, you don’t have to worry about the future? Here is the same, maintaining a healthy lifestyle will promote a much better life, regardless of your genetics and situation. Proper physical self-care on top of everything else will always bring improvement. You don’t need to obsess here (this is also bad), but find the proper balance, and be assertive for what you have to do to promote your health.

So, the main purpose here is to promote physical self-care, which is for you to start by listening to your body. At first, it can be difficult, so you can stick with situations where your body tells you to stop. You know this well, especially if you want to pay attention. Avoid overdoing things, even if you believe you can do them. From here, keep into account these four points:

  1. Regular exercise. This is the same good old as always, but exercising is essential for a healthy lifestyle and a required time investment for proper physical self-care. You don’t need to bust yourself in the gym every day, but you want to make sure you race your heart a little bit every day for 25-30 minutes at least. Even 15 minutes are good if your time is super tight, but you must give this to yourself.
  2. Healthy diet. Yes, of course, here comes the second obvious step. We are talking about the physical body, so it is always the same mechanics! You know what healthy eating means, so all I will say is to invite you to check this article about mindful eating, something also essential besides a healthy diet. Keeping into account what you eat, is a great form of self-care.
  3. Restful sleep. We continue to go with the obvious, but you know what, maybe you fail to do this properly as well. We live in an overloaded society and this is taking a heavy toll. Sleeping well is sometimes easier said than done. If you need some aid, check out these sleep meditations. I can almost guarantee you these will knock you down!
  4. Proper grooming. Maybe you didn’t see this one coming, but it is not less obvious. When you invest proper time in grooming, you are also taking proper self-care. Besides the obvious reason for this, you slow down from “live busy-busy” to take care of at least washing your face and teeth, as well as combing your hair. Symbolically, it can even be a form of meditation, but you need to open your mind to be receptive to that.

You need to feel connected to your body for proper self-care. I do not mean liking yourself and accepting how you are (this would be ideal too though!) I mean keeping into account the four steps above. Witness the results of your efforts and rejoice with a healthier and happier physical body.

Emotional self-care comes in second

While in this society you need at least to take good care in grooming, clothing, and maintaining decent health to function optimally, there is a lot more. One problem that our current society has is that emotional health is not as taken into account as physical health or even mental. Only now, we as a society are starting to understand the importance of proper emotional self-care. Being emotional is not being vulnerable, quite the contrary if you think about it.

Sharing your feelings with those who you love and who love you back promotes proper emotional self-care.

Sharing your feelings with those who you love and who love you back promotes proper emotional self-care.

For starters, at a soul level, you (and me, and everybody else) will feel a little lonely because of the concept of duality. On top of this, we have a society in which one of its cornerstones is unfortunately ego-based, and not in a good way. Competition is normal, and you gotta do a lot of things to thrive, and it seems you can’t even cry, but this is wrong. It is precisely a strong fact that emotions have enormous power, so you need to learn how to control them.

So, you need to understand better your emotions. Learn to listen to your heart, and don’t be afraid of it. Proper emotional self-care is to allow those who love you the most to help you out, don’t shut down your heart to them. A good way to maintain a healthy emotional life is to do emotional inventory checks often, on your own time of self-reflection. From here, keep into account these four points:

  1. Setting healthy boundaries. It is important for proper emotional self-care for you to not allow others to take away your energy. If you need to keep a distance from a person for a reason, keep it. You want to make sure you have some intentions about what you want to feel. Of course, you cannot control this, but you can stop doing something if it’s making you feel wrong, for example. You need to know your feelings, but be true to them, and don’t be afraid to pursue what you need or avoid what you don’t need.
  2. Stress management techniques. Perhaps this sounds more mental to you, but the kicker here is the emotional toll that stress provides. Furthermore, stress weakens your mental toughness severely, in addition to bringing a lot of health problems, keeping you away from wellness. Simple techniques such as breathing exercises will greatly help you to slow down your anxiety in any spot. You can check out these relaxation meditations as well. Meditating promotes fantastic self-care because of the many benefits it yields.
  3. Positive activities. For what life requires from you, you need to provide it, whether you feel like it or not. However, it is not all duty calls and following only what is essential and nothing else. A fantastic way to enhance proper well-being is to add positive activities in your life, even more, if you are feeling down. You should not punish yourself if something doesn’t go as intended, but instead, learn from it, and continue to add positive experiences in your life to recover your mental strength.
  4. Social connections. Keeping the right people around you promotes a more positive life. Another form of self-care is to make sure you find and keep these wonderful connections. The human being is a social animal, so it is important to socialize a little. Even if you have a small group of friends, this is good, but make sure to connect with them often, and get the most out of your time with them.

Make sure to honor your emotions as they are powerful guides. Make sure to also allow yourself to have good times with friends, or on your own doing what you love the most. If you unwind, you will be able to let go of a lot of chains that otherwise keep you trapped.

Caring about your mental state is also essential

Mental self-care is another important aspect that needs a lot more attention. There are still way too many negative stereotypes about pursuing proper mental health, and this needs to come to an end. Caring for your mind and mental state must be your top priority, the same way to take proper care of other aspects of your life.

You need to also ensure having a positive mental state.

You need to also ensure having a positive mental state.

One essential step is prevention, for example, from contracting anxiety. Perhaps the word “contracting” sounds more like a viral illness, but in a way, you too can “catch anxiety” if you cultivate it over a long period. If you have anxiety, it is a little late already because the ideal is not getting there, however, you will be able to slowly solve it and remove it from your life. You need to pay attention to any signs when anxiety develops.

When you work on your mental self-care, you gain a lot of mental toughness as well as resilience. You will feel ready for a lot more life challenges, and you will feel a lot less drained, or not drained at all even while solving complex problems. From here, keep into account these four points:

  1. Saying “no” when necessary. This is a harder lesson than you think, especially for some people who are otherwise kind, and very included to help, always. However, you need to set your boundaries and put some limits. If you don’t some people will suck your energy dry. You have to understand that some people will take it all, and then some, so you gotta protect your balance by setting boundaries and not allowing what you don’t want.
  2. Engage in positive activities. As I had shared for proper emotional self-care, you need to add positive activities to your life. Even if you have a lot of problems, you too deserve to have more fun and unplug a little, so do it!
  3. Avoiding toxic influences. While challenging, this is a no-brainer. Perhaps there are some people that for some reason you don’t want to push them away, but they are very toxic. You should not have toxic relationships, so you need to keep into account point #1. If the other person doesn’t respect this, you should reconsider whether you keep this relationship or not.
  4. Challenging negative thinking. It is very easy to dwell within negativity, it is something that comes naturally to you the same way as everybody. You need to learn how to fight these thoughts, and instead of just accepting the negative and feeling sorry for it, take action! Start checking the positive outcomes (there is always something positive in a negative situation) and focus on these outcomes. For the negative parts, minimize them while you learn from them.

As you can see, it is quite simple. These are not difficult steps, but you have to take them. As with everything in life, you need to take action, and you need to be actively involved. However, once you do, it becomes a daily awareness for you, making your mental self-care efficient with great results.

Spiritual self-care is no less

You need to take proper self-care of your spirituality as well. You cannot separate spirituality from the rest, it is part of everything, including part of you. While you are a physical being, technically you are the soul in a human body having an experience in the physical plane. For this reason, you need to take care of your spiritual self as well. You can continue living your life the same way, you don’t even have to change your beliefs.

With proper spiritual self-care you will be more aligned and healthier.

With proper spiritual self-care, you will be more aligned and healthier.

It is very important to have a good spiritual balance because, for example, your 7 Main Chakras are connected to your main organs. If your Chakras are balanced, you will promote optimal health (plus other things.) So, if you only focus on the Chakras, you are already doing yourself a big favor in spiritual self-care. Especially if you take care of the rest of your being (physical, emotional, and mental,) you will meet with amazing results.

You only need to keep a few things into account as you navigate through your day-to-day. You will feel a lot more connected, more in oneness, and able to temporarily disconnect from duality. You will get a lot more out of life if you are also aware and open to the spiritual side of things. From here, keep into account these four points:

  1. Meditation. I bet you didn’t know this one, did you? Just kidding, of course, you knew this one was coming. So, since you know so well, let me ask you, are you meditating? If not, you should get started. Check out this recap of articles about meditation, as well as these five-minute guided meditations. Now, you don’t have an excuse!
  2. Reading spiritual blogs and books. Yeah, like this one you are reading! No, seriously, I try my best to share as much as possible with the help of my Spirit Guides and the Akashic Records. You can find a lot of wisdom around, but I will only ask you one thing. Question everything you read, even this very article, and don’t just swallow it, instead, see how it applies in your life, and if you can implement something and how. You can name this as the best form of spiritual self-care!
  3. Connecting to Spirit. You want to enable 5-10 minutes a day where you clear your heart and mind. From here, you will open up to your Spirit Guides and set the intention to feel them. As you get more accustomed, you may start asking questions and answers. From here, you will know how to continue!
  4. Act of Kindness. The world needs a lot more of these, and I am sure that you already do many acts of kindness. If we all helped one person or did one selfless thing every day, every single human, this civilization would be amazing. So, keep the positive ball rolling here, please!

Very simple too, right? There is no need for complex outcomes or difficult activities. You can sure go as deep down the spiritual rabbit hole as you want, you will always keep learning. But if you are content to keep proper spiritual self-care, the abovementioned is more than enough!

To wrap up

From here, you are on your own (but don’t forget to ask for help if you need to for proper emotional self-care!) I only want to recommend you slowly apply this in your day-to-day life. You do not need to make an abrupt change by implementing it all at once. That definitely wouldn’t be proper self-care!
