Spirituality tools for Anger Management: You too can help yourself!

In today's society, you probably have had many situations that are anger-triggering, but with proper anger management, you can learn how to handle each situation properly. I want to go one step forward and ask you, how well are you internalizing that anger?

Anger management mainly focuses on how you exteriorize (or don't) your anger, and this is great, but you also need to clear these negative emotions so they are not dwelling within your energy field and damaging you. In a similar way to last week's article, intrusive vs impulsive thoughts, helping yourself with mindfulness is an essential key.

What is anger?

Anger is a human emotion that serves a great purpose at the time to find the energy to handle the world. As with every emotion, especially negative ones, you should experience a limited amount of it. Through anger management, you will handle these emotions and function properly in life, and most of the time, you will also be able to clear this from your heart.

But what if you don't? What if something fails or there are so many annoying things that you are super angry all day without being able to help it? A fantastic step here is to start working inwardly, bringing self-awareness into your life, and knowing better how to self-cleanse.

There are two foundational forces or "master" energies, thus obeying the Principle of Polarity, one being love, connected to positivity, and the other, fear, connected to negativity. Anger belongs to fear because it is an emotion of a lower vibration.

The toll of being angry

You don't want to hold anger in your heart, but neither do you want to release it wrongfully for obvious reasons. You might be good at holding the anger in; great, you burn no one but... yourself!

Anger management promotes a healthier mind.
Anger takes a toll on your physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual health.

Each person is different, and perhaps you react more to physical stimuli. So, if you are holding on to anger, negative emotions, and grudges, you start by blocking your heart chakra, and this will affect the health of your physical heart. But there are a few more:

  • You promote high blood pressure.
  • You are prone to depression and anxiety.
  • Your decision-making is stained.
  • You vibrate in a negative spectrum, triggering the Principle of Correspondence and Vibration, promoting further reasons to be angry.
  • You push away positivity and situations that will otherwise lift you up.
  • You promote digestive problems, promoting a block on your solar plexus chakra, affecting and weakening your personal power and balance.
  • You may damage personal and professional relationships and agreements.
  • You may even trigger an existential depression if you don't have proper anger management.

I had to be blunt because telling you "nah, don't worry about it" will bring more harm. What you can do from here is to start to take the smallest step you can, and that leads to progress and betterment.

I don't want to instill fear in you; I am here to clear the world of it, but I want you to take action and take care of yourself. We have already talked enough about all the bad and ugly about anger, so now let's go for solutions.

Spiritual Anger Management techniques

Likely, you don't have to seek professional help to control your anger, unless, of course, your anger is controlling your life and surroundings. But for more cases, what you need are some tips to get started in taking the proper steps towards proper anger management.

Spiritual help like mindfulness or healing will promote better anger management.

If you wonder how to control anger, one step here is to project counter energy that is opposite to anger. For example, peaceful feelings. I understand it is hard, especially when your head wants to blow up like a volcano, but you can't! You want to find a spot in your head that brings positive emotions and bring them forward.

If you want to progressively be more at ease in life, use anger management to prevent the many triggers surrounding you from even affecting you the least.

  • Breathing with mindfulness: Focusing on your breathing is possibly your flagship in anger management. Here, you will defocus your mind on the problem while focusing on your breathing. On top, you will lower your breathing and heart rate, reducing cortisol and testosterone.
  • Know your anger, your triggers: We got back to the usual advice, knowing yourself, but what do you want me to tell you? You must know yourself, so stop escaping from yourself! If you know your anger, you can be more ready when you are in a stressful moment.
  • Self-Compassion: Another common one, right? Wait, I have to mention self-love too!! You didn't think I forgot that one, did you? If you feel slightly triggered when I ask you to love yourself, you've got a lot of work to do, but you, too, will get there as well, wait and see! You will be more gentle with yourself, less angry.
  • Meditation for anger: Another cornerstone in feeling better. Here, you will not only realign yourself, but you will also be able to journey into different scenarios, adjusting to how you are feeling and what you need best.
  • Journaling: This is an extension of "know yourself," but sometimes, when you invest time in knowing your triggers, you can even heal them. Furthermore, you will be more confident, and this will trigger the ancestral caveman trigger "fight or flight," yielding to anger sometimes.

When you start working on anger management, you also trigger a chemical reaction in your brain, which is key to future and more efficient anger management. You calm your amygdala, you reduce cortisol, and you also attract positive energy your way. Don't mind asking for help. you will feel better.

Conclusion

I don't want to be redundant, so it is time to wrap this up. If this is the first time you are trying anger management with spirituality, don't forget:

  • Start small, taking a tiny step, and make sure to complete it.
  • If you fail, it's okay; you can try again tomorrow, and you will do a little better.
  • If you can't give yourself 5 minutes, give yourself 15. Really, dude, drop the phone and work on yourself.
  • Don't punish yourself for failures, don't judge yourself, and don't say bad things about yourself.

The spiritual practice of reclaiming peace through awareness is at your fingertips. If you want to feel better, you can start taking these easy steps. If you feel you don't want to do them, please give yourself a push or reach out; I will be able to lend you a hand.
