Recommended time to meditate with ADHD

Maybe you still are thinking “How long should I meditate for ADHD?” If you are, don’t worry, that is completely fine, I always say it is good to question things. Start slow, maybe 3-5 minutes. Even if the meditation is longer, don’t worry.

Start with the goal of relaxing your mind for no more than five minutes. Even if you feel you can, for the first few days start with a solid 5 minute goal. If you struggle, don’t worry, go down to 3, 2, or even 1 if your ADHD drifts you away too often. Meditation is not a race, so your mark is perfect for you.

Once you can meditate for 1-5 minutes without getting distracted, slowly add a few more minutes. You can challenge yourself to finish one meditation. If you do, keep it at it as long as you do not start reducing your average time. If you were, it means you are adding stress by pushing yourself too much.

Go slow but steady, and you will find that incorporating meditation into your daily ADHD routine will be a reality making you feel wonderful.
