How the Questions People Ask Changed in 14 Years

When I started 14 years ago, most people came to psychic readings asking about love and questions about work. However, after around 40,000 readings, more than a specific question, I can tell that in the end, everybody wants to find the right path or be reassured they are already following it.
Love is still here, of course. Relationships, soul connections, separation, and emotional uncertainty still bring many people to a reading. But over time, I have watched something deeper rise to the surface. People are not only asking, “Will they come back?” Instead, they ask, “Why do I feel lost?” “What am I here to do?” These come a few times a week!
In this article, I want to share what I have observed across 14 years of readings. Stuff such as how the questions have changed and what I believe those changes say about us right now. Where These Numbers Come From
These observations come from my own work as a psychic medium and spiritual teacher. This is between 2012 and 2026, counted in aggregate from around 40,000 readings and other sessions. Some patterns, such as total readings and years of practice, are counted directly. The shifts in the types of questions are practitioner observations gathered over time without client names or private stories since privacy is non-negotiable.
The Biggest Shift I Have Seen
The biggest shift Fernando Albert has seen across 14 years and around 40,000 readings is that people are asking less only about what will happen and more about who they are becoming, and especially, how to do it.
At the beginning, many sessions started with a person or a relationship, searching for a specific outcome. Will he call me? Is she thinking of me? Will the job happen? Will I move? These questions are still completely valid, and they come every day. I understand them because life can feel very uncertain when your heart, money, home, or future is involved. School doesn't teach you to seek your true calling, so you meet with this later in life, thus yielding these questions.
But now, more people come with a different kind of tiredness because they are not only trying to predict the next event; they are trying to understand why the same emotional pattern keeps repeating. Or, for example, why they feel disconnected from joy. A lot of times it falls on the fact that their life looks fine from the outside but feels empty inside, bringing questions forward.
What People Used to Ask
In Fernando Albert's early years as a medium, many readings began with love and relationships. It was also common to ask whether someone would come back.
People wanted to know if their ex missed them, if a partner was faithful, or if a connection was a soulmate bond, as well as the potential of a relationship having a future. They also asked about jobs and moves, including "In what country should I live?"
There was often a clear event attached to the question, as, for example, a breakup. Other times a job interview was coming, or perhaps a good friend had gone silent. The person wanted guidance around something specific and other times, to know if someone in spirit is okay.
Those questions still exist. Trust me, love has not left the room, as these come pretty much daily. But in those earlier years, the question was often pointed toward another person or an external event. The energy was, “What is going to happen with them?” That kind of reading can bring comfort and clarity, but it is only one layer of what people really need.
What People Ask Now
After 14 years and around 40,000 readings, Fernando Albert now hears more people ask questions about life direction and purpose due to emotional exhaustion and spiritual awakening.
People still ask about love, but the love question often opens into something bigger. “Why do I keep attracting the same type of person?” or “Why do I know something is not right, but I stay?” These questions are coming more frequently, showing that it is no longer only a relationship question, but it is a self-trust question. You are looking within yourself: "Why do I attract..."
Many people also ask to find their life purpose, especially when they feel they are living on autopilot. They may have a job and a home, even a relationship and responsibilities, but something inside them is showing there is much more.
Others ask about spiritual signs, intuition, dreams, energy sensitivity, guides, and why they feel more awake but also more overwhelmed. Some people arrive after years of pushing through life and finally say, “I cannot keep doing it like this.”
Can you relate to this? Because many people can. Nowadays, many seem to know nothing about what to do with their lives, and this is the first step towards aligning with the right vs continuing an empty, monotonous life.
Why the Questions Changed
Fernando Albert believes the questions changed because the last 14 years have made people more aware as well as more tired, turning them less able to ignore the gap between how life looks and how life feels.
We have lived through a lot, so people have had to question security and work; relationships and health; money, but with a purpose; and the pace at which they live. Many people are functioning, but they are not truly feeling alive, proving the monotony I refer to. That shows up in readings very clearly.
The world has also made spiritual language more accessible. More people now speak openly about intuition, energy, trauma, awakening, signs, and soul purpose. Some of this is beautiful but also very confusing. When everything online has a name, people can start wondering whether every feeling is a sign, every connection is now a twin flame, and every hard week is a spiritual emergency, and a lot of times, this is not accurate.
This is why grounded guidance matters, and I always stay super real, because it's a must. A reading should help you come back to your own center, not make you spin in circles or feel more lost. It should help you sort the real signal from the misleading.
People are not only asking deeper questions because they are more spiritual. They are asking deeper questions because the old ways of ignoring themselves are not working anymore. Self-love is taking more and more privilege, and this is necessary for this civilization to keep evolving.
What Has Not Changed
After 14 years of readings, Fernando Albert has learned that the words change, but in the end, the needs of each person yield to a common denominator.
People still want to love and be loved; this is true human nature. They still want to know if their loved ones in Spirit are okay, as love transcends time, distance, and death. They still want to feel safe and part of society, to contribute and feel understood.
Even when someone asks about work, it may be about worth or purpose. Even when someone asks about love, it may be about self-trust and self-worth. Even when someone asks about the future, it may be about whether they can survive the present to guarantee this desired future.
This is why psychic readings are never just about information. At their best, they are about light with plenty of clarity as well as returning the person to themselves.

What This Says About Us Right Now
What people ask in readings says something very honest about the time we are living in.
People are looking to build resilience, but they do not only want to endure life but also to truly get the most out of it, to understand it. They want to know how to be happy without pretending everything is fine. They want real love while being real to themselves.
To me, that is the deeper message of this shift because people are becoming less satisfied with surface answers. They still want guidance, but they also want truth. They want a life that feels like theirs and aligned to their core emotions.
