Be functional and let go of everything that serves no purpose in your life.

Welcome! I hope you liked last week’s posts about different spiritual tools that will come your way. These will help your spiritual development because they provide a lot of help to discovery. This week we are going to talk a little about being functional. Without realizing it, we often waste our time or do not know how to manage it correctly. A situation like this becomes a severe problem when a lack of time and feelings of anxiety and overwhelm appear.

This will be one of those posts where I’m not discovering or sharing anything new. Instead, the goal of this entry is to reorient your perception and, above all, your organization in your life. Therefore, this entry will be for you to reflect on some basic things. We have grown a lot as a society since human beings began to take their first steps on this planet. From then until today, a lot of time has passed, and although in many things we have advanced astronomically, in others, we have not. We have lost functionality. If you remember a few essential items, your life can improve substantially.

Discarding what you don’t need is essential to be more functional.

And this comes with a certain irony at a time of significant consumption, thanks to the projects and goals of large corporations. Today, millions of people discount valuable and even serviceable things. Everything is being wasted more and more because, in a certain way, by having an abundance, gratitude is a little forgotten. This is terrible, and besides, it’s not functional at all. If you see that you have lost gratitude, it is essential to recover it. But this is not the goal of this article. I bring this up because, unfortunately, if humanity is too good at throwing things away, it’s essential to use this for a positive outcome. We are learning to discard what we do not need from our lives.

And by this, I mean above all non-tangible things, such as how you distribute your time. I have a video course called “Path to Success,” This course will help you balance your life again and save your time much more than you imagined.

The first step to take is to identify what things you have leftover in your life. For this, it would be ideal to invest about 15-20 minutes a day to analyze how the day has gone. You may find monotonous things that are worthless to you. For example, maybe you go out of your way for 10 minutes to buy the newspaper every day. However, you hardly read the newspaper, and a colleague always takes it. However, you feel frustrated because there is almost no time for that coffee before starting work.

If it's functional, it will flow peacefully.

If it’s functional, it will flow peacefully.

Have you noticed?

It seems that we have a relatively simple problem to solve. This person needs more time with their co-workers, and they don’t read the newspaper because they prefer to chat. The solution is in the problem; stop buying the newspaper and save those ten minutes to enjoy the coffee. Everything seems much more functional since you could feel that the day has been more practical and has flowed better.

The irony of ease.

Sometimes we do not realize what we have in front of our noses. But most of the time, this is because we have not remembered the eyelids and look. You have to start by knowing yourself; this is extremely important. For that person to realize that going to look for the newspaper only takes away, it does not provide functionality or happiness. As you recognize and get what gives you zero in life, you can see how it seems that everything is optimizing.

This could be many things like “check the socials” every day, saying hello to a person because he plays and is alone, or even going with two friends for beer on Fridays after work. It can be very monotonous for some people while fantastic for others. But do you know if it is monotonous for you? If so, you could swap these for reading a book, calling your aunt on the way to work, or going wine tasting with a couple of different friends. This is what makes the world beautiful, the variety. Wanting to be like sheep and be the same is a big mistake. A great mistake that unfortunately defines humanity.

You have to be aware.

If you discover what brings you happiness and try to reorient your consciousness, your life will change completely. And this is possibly a result of small changes like the ones I mentioned above. A more functional life equals greater happiness.

As you can see, it is much simpler than it seems. Like most things, putting a little effort and thinking things through, you will have good results; it’s much more functional. Next week, we will talk about mindfulness and create a small plan to reach this mental and emotional state. But all this in one week! I will tell you next week. I am pretty sure you are going to enjoy the read! See you next Wednesday!
