Dream Journal: Why should you have one?

Hello! How are you? Any engaging experiences this week? Every moment in life is an opportunity to have a new experience, and this is so, constantly. But we already talked about this last week. This week we are going back to the world of dreams, which hasn’t been an entry on this topic for a long time. I’ve noticed that there is still no entry to talk about the Dream Journal, so it’s already a fact today!

Well, I’m going to ask you something, how are you doing with your dreams? Perhaps some of you already have a lot of experience and are doing great, but you are in the right place if this is not the case. To begin with, I can invite you to read this post on lucid dreams, a complete collection of posts that will help you master lucid dreams. Even so, today, I bring you something new, and if you are learning here on the blog, this is an important lesson.

Let’s start by creating a Dream Journal.

A dream journal is an essential tool if you are trying to expand your dreams. If you are starting to explore your dreams, the first tip is to have a dream journal available. And really, this is not something complicated. I recommend using a notebook and a pen next to a dim light that will not keep you awake if you wake up to write something down in the middle of the night. This is much better than using any electronic device. There can be distractions and other unfavorable situations during sleep hours, even with blue light.

An electronic is not the best dream journal.

Also, another positive aspect of having your dream journal is that you can make it something special. Having a special notebook to write down your dreams will stimulate the brain, focusing more on creating better dreams. Looking at the dream journal already sends a signal to the brain to focus on dreams. Precisely, this is the main reason that dream memory is so bad. We do not give importance to them; therefore, neither does our brain. A dream journal will be the first step.

And as I just said, you can make it a special notebook. There are thousands of designs online, and you can also decorate it if you wish. You have to get carried away by your creativity, and you have to make sure that you love your dream journal. That just by seeing this notebook, you notice a smile.

What if I don’t care about dreams?

It is possible that your dreams are not necessary to you. However, I recommend that you keep a dream journal. At least one ordinary notebook on your nightstand. Although you do not observe your dreams, you may have some beautiful experiences that you want to write down. Because yes, I advise you that if you have a pleasant experience, write it down, especially if you are not used to writing down your dreams. Or, for those harsh moments where there are nightmares, you can deal better with them this way.

It’s also important to keep in mind, even if you don’t mind dreams, events such as sleep paralysis, or having a very vivid dream, for example. You can also have some unusual experiences that you would like to reflect on the next day. If you do not have the opportunity to write down this experience, you will forget it the next day. Therefore, I recommend you always can aim, just in case!

In addition, you may find yourself in bed reflecting on a specific topic. You may have a great idea… risking it or getting up to write it down are worse situations than reaching for the nightstand and writing it down in your dream journal without getting out of bed.

Benefits of dream journaling for the casual dreamer.

Having that notebook on your bedside table will help you have better dreams and memory, mainly if you write down your dreams daily. Therefore, I recommend investing a little time to get that dream journal. Do not forget the pen; look for a unique color, very different from what you are used to. And there isn’t much more to say since it’s time to fill it from here! And if you want to become a pro-dreamer, I invite you to check out my Lucid Dreaming Course right here.
