If you fear of being forgotten by someone you love, remember, you are not alone
Today, it is all about the fear of being forgotten, also called Athazagoraphobia. I know, another "outside of the normal article," but someone asked me to write about this, and I believe it can be helpful. How can spirituality help you with the fear of being forgotten? Let's check it out.
Before we continue, did you have a chance to experience a past life regression? You can read a lot about it from last week's article, and if you feel like it, you can immerse yourself in one session and witness one of your past lives yourself!
The fear of being forgotten, or Athazagoraphobia, is an irrational fear that everybody will forget you, perhaps overlook or ignore you, and you will not be able to take part in groups and busy settings. This could also be a fear of forgetting other people, or even everybody. The purpose today is to have a spiritual approach to the subject that can help you if this is your case.
Symptoms, Causes, and Triggers of the Fear of Being Forgotten
As with any type of fear, you will start feeling uneasy, with a rapid heart rate, anxiety, sweating, and a general discomfort. However, this type of fear unfortunately doesn't stop here. Athazagoraphobia can be a continuous feeling revolving around your heart and mind.
Some studies indicate that this phobia is connected with a genetic predisposition as one significant factor. (Source: MentalHealth) This condition can also be triggered by traumatic events in this lifetime and, in some cases, carry trauma from past lives or even generational trauma, especially if you were pushed in a direction by others.
In some cases, this can also happen to a greater degree as you go through a deep spiritual awakening and you make big shifts in your life. Also, souls who arrived on this planet through the walk-in phenomenon may suffer from fear of being forgotten because of how different they likely are from their families.

I have seen cases where the person is overall happy and surrounded by great people and still suffering a certain degree of Athazagoraphobia, and sometimes this can be because this person is in a different (normally higher) vibrational spectrum, creating a certain feeling of misalignment. If this is your case and you identify that "it's just energy," you will have no doubts that you are surrounded and loved.
Another situation that would be a pseudo fear of being forgotten is when you delve very deep into your spirituality. It may be that you, without noticing, push yourself aside from other people, for whatever reasons, ego-based or not. You need to remember that spirituality is more than becoming a hermit, so... socialize!
If you have to restart your life for whatever reason, you may also suffer from athazagoraphobia symptoms. Here, the fear of being forgotten, replaced, or ignored can turn out to be a strong and scary thunderous voice in your head and heart. In this situation, it is best if you start looking for new connections. A new start in life will benefit from adding new people to your circle as well.
How to cope, help myself, and start reassuring and feeling more loved
The first step here is for you to assess how you are dealing with your fear of being forgotten. Do you feel that you can live a normal life, but at times, you feel down and even scared to be alone? If so, you can slowly work your way up, one step at a time, so keep on reading to find some advice. If you feel that your athazagoraphobia is affecting your daily activities or your physical health, please seek professional mental health care.
In most cases, you can still read on, because your psychologist will likely agree with these steps and add more that they consider necessary for your recovery. Remember, you are not alone, and you will never be forgotten.
Taking one small step is the most important part, and it doesn't matter how small it is; it matters that you take the step. If it's tiny, even better; this way, it's easier for you, enabling you to notice that you indeed can make it.

The steps to take will depend on your situation and how well or not well you feel:
- Meditation. This is the first step I will advise you on, but not the only one, as this will differ depending on how you are doing. However, guided meditations centering on self-love and healing will promote your feeling loved, promoting a recovery from any fear of being forgotten.
- Mindfulness. You can help yourself with this one. You will not go from Athazagoraphobia to mindful in one afternoon, but as soon as you start to work on adding positive thoughts to your day-to-day and help yourself as much as you can to not dwell within negativity, you will feel a tiny bit better every day.
- Self-Healing & Visualization. Start making simple and positive visualizations where you see scenarios where you are loved, even if you have to imagine them. Also, self-healing techniques can help a lot, and you can check these healing techniques here.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy. Seeking the appropriate help. These two therapies will also add a lot to your spiritual and energetic work.
- Medications. Please be aware that you have access to medications, both natural, such as some master plants, and pharmaceutical, such as medications to treat any mental need. Remember, helping yourself with medication doesn't make you less of a person; you are only healing. Before taking any type of medication, even natural ones, consult first with a mental health professional.
- Mental Professional Help. If you believe you are struggling with your fear of being forgotten, it is best that you search for a mental health professional to help you. You will receive any appropriate guidance, exercises, and perhaps medications if necessary.
On top of any help you need, I will be happy to listen to you, lend you a hand, and give all the energetic support you need. Book a Talk to Fer session today!
I will be delighted to work with you. We will work with some healing, and I will listen to all your needs and, with your self, help you receive some spiritual guidance. Keep in mind that athazagoraphobia needs some attention like any other phobia, to avoid it seizing your day-to-day. Don't replace mental professional health if you feel you really need it, but add as much as you can that you feel can help.
Conclusion
As with a lot of things, the fear of being forgotten requires you to develop coping strategies to gradually grow stronger. Don't forget to also use intellectual awareness. You may feel alone, but you are aware (but don't feel it) that there are people who would give up their life for you. You must simply repeat to yourself these thoughts, "I know xxxx loves me," and search for memories that show it.
If because of physical evidence you are suffering from athazagoraphobia, it will not go away by simply using therapy and healing. These will help you to find the strength to seek new connections and start rebuilding your life. As soon as you start developing even one connection, you will already create a big light at the end the fear of being alone tunnel, slowly prompting you into healing.
